TWD: And We're Back!

Ok, I know I've been away awhile...but..we've been on summer break. Here at good old american auto company, we go on a summer shutdown for two weeks..this year the two weeks was mandatory...

Ugg and I went to DC for shutdown...le sigh. DC is one of my FAVORITE places, and I swear, I will someday live there. Hopefully sooner rather than later!!

Ohh, look! I even met Barack Obama!

Well....if a cardboard cutout counts. Which I think it DOES!...also --please ignore the hair...DC humidity wreaks havoc on blown out styles. Also -- I wish Ugg (or Barack) would have told me to cover my bra strap!

So, in the course of my crazy before shutdown life, where work is so crazy, because the sky will fall if everything doesn't get done before shutdown and then shutdown itself, I have been sorely neglecting my TWD and BB....but, I'm glad to say, I'm back in the saddle again! I will be back regularly posting my TWD and BB.

What a GREAT recipe to come back to!! I love chocolate pudding, and have been eyeing Dorie's recipe since I got the book. So, you can imagine that I was thrilled to see this one...and I was thankful for a nice easy one to ease back into all the cooking/baking. This recipe was chosen by Melissa. You can check her out over at It's Melissa's Kitchen for this recipe!

I'm not a fan of the DEEP DARK chocolate...so, I subbed semisweet for my pudding....when I make it next, I will certainly use milk, though..even the semisweet was a little too much for me!!

I loved that this was so easy ... I will say, though, even with using the food processor, I did have a bit of a texture issue...

So, next time you're craving some pudding, step away from the box, and give this one a try, you won't be disappointed!

Please forgive this picture...I don't eat my pudding with whipped cream....I couldn't think of anything to do to make this look more edible!! It really was GOOD!!

All brown food is no fun to photograph.
Welcome back.

It doesn't need anything to make it look edible - other than the spoon! Great job!

Pudding can be tricky to photograph, but yours looks fine.
I lived in metro DC for about 3 years and hated it. I couldn't wait to get away from all the noise, traffic, smog and crowdedness (if that's a word). Make sure you really want to live there, it's a hard place to live, for sure. Old Town in VA is ok, but boy the summer's are a killer, talk about humidity.
